Fundación Formemos

Current mission

Colombia - Since 01/01/2010

Fundaciòn Formenos is a non-profit organisation that seeks to educate and house children displaced by guerrilla violence and drug trafficking in rural areas of Colombia. Colombia is the second country on the planet with the greatest number of displaced people. Children are among the most tragic victims of this displacement. With ARPE’s help, the foundation will be able to implement a fully functioning sewage system for its educational center and build a home for 85 displaced girls. ARPE also supported the foundation’s “Healing Hearts” program, which aims to heal the psychological wounds of displacement by focusing on community building and reintegration.

Prójimo Próximo

Current mission

Madrid Spain - Since 01/01/2014

The Foundation was established in 2001 by a group of volunteers who came weekly to the CAMF of Leganes (Care Center for Physically Handicapped) in Madrid, where they saw the need to help disabled people who lacked economic resources to obtain improvements in their quality of life.
The Foundation aims at helping people with physical or mental disabilities who need specific products, economic support, removal of architectural barriers and financing activities to give them greater independence and improve their quality of life.
Its distinctive values are the proximity and simplicity. Each Euro the Foundation receives covers aid to the people they visit and assist personally. Its contribution can consist of the purchase of a special mattress to a person suffering from degenerative sclerosis, the purchase of a wheelchair, the payment of respiratory physiotherapy or any other economic or social support.
